TL;DR — this is the time to make moves, stop wasting time talking about what you wanna do and actually do it. Something that began in early 2022 and faced setbacks in late 2022/early 2023 is now seeing strong traction.

As we cut through the lingering fog from last moonth with Mercury’s final days in detriment, post-shadow, and square Neptune… this New Moon in Capricorn brings strong forward momentum, opportunities, and drive, yet also obligations — Capricorn does not cut corners, Capricorn demands follow through.

Last moonth’s focal point was confronting the illusion that simply talking about or envisioning something makes it real. You cannot cross a bridge that exists only in your mind. However, you cannot build a bridge without imagining it first either.

The fog will dissipate quickly as Mercury picks up momentum, shining brightly at dawn, soon entering Capricorn, trine its domicile + exaltation of Virgo.

However, Mercury in Capricorn is averse its other home sign, Gemini. Despite this, Gemini still communicates with Capricorn through contra-antiscia. Tangible work (♑︎) requires an idea (♊︎) before action can be taken. At the same time, while speaking things into existence (♊︎) definitely holds power, it is useless without the physical work (♑︎).

Saturn, the ruler of this New Moon, is direct and fast in Pisces + sextile its dispositor ♃, meaning it’s time to make MOVES. Do the work required to bring stuff from the imaginary realm (♓︎) into the physical.

This New Moonth also brings us back to early 2022. Think back to an idea, an opportunity, something new that arose around May of 2022. It was likely that whatever this was, it was infused with eager, as this is when Mars and Jupiter aligned in Aries — Mars’ domicile.

However, Mars did not make it very far, stationing retrograde in Gemini, forming a lengthy square to Neptune. Whatever began in early 2022 may have faced setbacks in late 2022 and early 2023. Our plans may have been quite literally stuck in the idea phase, and we likely had to confront some delusions or illusions.

This moonth, there is strong traction with the seed that was planted in early 2022. Mars, Mercury, and Venus all trine Jupiter this moonth. Although there is definitely still work to be done… this is a Capricorn stellium after all!

Work (♂︎) is required to bring things into fruition, work is required to create CHANGE. In numerology, the number 5 is associated with change. Fascinatingly, Mars and Jupiter form a pentagon (5-sided) in the sky over their ~12-yr cycle. This underscores the importance of the work required (♂︎) to bring an opportunity (♃) into fruition and create change.

All of this forward momentum is exaggerated by this New Moon’s trine to Uranus. Interestingly, Uranus is also a symbol of change — I typically ascribe “transience” to Uranus — ruling the reality that no matter what, life is perpetually in movement, things will always change, the time will always pass. Mercury, Venus, and Mars will also all trine Uranus this moonth, reflecting plenty of breakthroughs.

This lunation doesn’t offer shortcuts, but it does offer the momentum needed to make change – if we have the diligence to see it through. ᕦ(ò_ó)ᕤ
